In these busy and often chaotic days I need reminders to stop sometimes. And this morning I swear J woke up a bigger, funnier, even more saucy that he was yesterday ( it is kind of fun) but this is why I need reminders.
This list is our reminder to play.
This is our reminder to explore,
and it is our reminder to take advantage of being outside and sharing the fun of summer with family, friends and neighbours. This weekend we did our best to do the above, tick off a few boxes, and we also got a few things done.
1 Trip to the Zoo-Check
Picnic in Fish Creek-Check ( I could do this every weekend)
Several garden centre trips. Look who is looking forward. He was so squished now I love seeing his little toes hanging down.
I got back into a groove, completing 3 little projects that had been on the sewing to do list for quite some time.
And last night we fudged the rule ( Rule: no sandbox till the cast is off. Fudge factor: Wear a glove, the cast should be coming off tomorrow) and opened up the cover to the sandbox. Finally after 6 long weeks of the sand begging for visitors it got 4 dedicated and cooperative builders and diggers. It was so fabulous to see. O talks daily about building sand castles this summer. After last night I am certain J's dedication to beach life will be similar. For many weeks J has been sneaking a hand in, kneeling at the side, while his brother was not looking. However last night when I put his whole bum in the sand, oh my....that was a big smile. So instead of the sand calling, my back sink will now be calling. A "real" sandbox party is still on the TO DO list. The weather today and for the rest of the week is wet so it will have to wait. O deserves a party.....the cast is off ( splint and lots of cream on)...invitations to follow!
And a new list to dream of for June 22!

I think we all love "to do" lists. Awesome idea to have one for yourself. Are you going to post about it?
ReplyDeleteI failed horribly on the spring cleaning list but I did manage to defrost the deepfreeze....there was a ton of ice in there. Now it's time to fill it back up :)
So happy O no longer has a green arm!!!
