Rain check...and kleenex please

So my deep cleaning project has begun. However my first two project rooms are taking me a little longer than I planned and hoped. In addition to Windex, the ShopVac, and several IKEA trips we have also needed a lot of kleenex. Our entire household is full of coughs, sneezes, fevers and germs; consequently I have been a little distracted and a little lazy. I am proud of what I accomplished so far, but I do need more time before moving on the next room.

The basement was a big job; it carried high hopes. Some visions have been accomplished, some are close to becoming a reality and some have yet to be realized. Half of the basement is now covered in foam puzzle pieces while the other half is awaiting new yellow duct tape for a speedway for bikes and cars. My "office" got a tidy and all Tuperwares are on shelves. Toys, clothes, and other "stuff" made it's way to value village. The dress-up clothes now are more visible and hopefully we will get to use them more. Similarly the food, kitchen and dishes ( an old favourite of O's) has a space for better play. During imaginative play, O loves going to the grocery store (more than cooking it seems) and often he likes going shopping and then taking the food/snacks to the airport. I am keen to see the new play that comes out of our efforts.
I still would like to
  • mop the floor
  • buy lights
  • make parking spots for the bikes
  • get more dress up clothes
  • enhance our kitchen set-up
The bathroom has been tackled over the course of several days. The shower door is still not as clean as I would like but the floor, baseboards, sinks, tub, drawers, and linen closet got the clean it needed. I also got a little help.....

(we started with pants on but when you are 3 and there is an inch of water in the tub it calls your name)

Thanks boys!

Mom now needs to add a little decor.
Has anyone ever seen pictures (cutely done) of their children sitting on the toilet. I think a black and white collage in my "toilet nook" would be fun.

And good job with your jobs!

p.s. Love the look of how "Izzy" turned out on the sidebar. So sweet! Any chance we can see it in full?
