Quilt # 4

About 8 weeks ago I was preparing to start a new quilt project for what most people, including the parents I believe, expected to be a little boy. However on May 16th a morning text informed me that my colour palette was no longer appropriate. A wee 5 lb bundle of ribbons and curls had entered the world. She was going to be loved and cherished and I could not wait to find fabric to create a blanket just for her.

Her room, previously occupied by her oh so cute and very adoring brother, was light brown and turquoise. I assumed (potentially dangerous) this colour scheme was going to remain. With little hesitation I selected fabrics that would compliment the walls. Happily I marched home and upon reviewing my selections I realized almost all of the fabrics I chose were designed by someone with the same name as the recipient. Since this was heading to Little Lady RYLIE and the fabrics were designed by RILEY Blake, naming this blanket was easy.

It was made the same as the other 3 rag quilts I made this year, and so my friends I will save you the repetition and boredom.

I enjoyed making and giving this quilt away. If it is loved as much as she is I know it will be joyfully shredded in the years to come. Enjoy dragging it around Rylie.
