Quilt # 3

Why: I made a girly rag quilt so I had to make a boy rag quilt. In the end it is the quilt that ended up in the nursery.

Fabric: This quilt was made with 8 different fabrics on the front and a mostly green fabric for the back. The first print I selected was the airplane fabric and this the rest fell into place really easily. I also really like the cowboy looking fabric.

How it was made: This quilt is 8 squares by 12 squares. Again I used 6" squares and a 3/4 " seam allowance. There are also a few "errors" in this quilt. Can you see them? Sometimes my eye is immediately drawn to them and then other times I forget they are there. In the 3rd row from the bottom I have two stripe fabrics beside each other. In the column furtherest to the right the strips are vertical not horizontal. However, someone once told me that there are never errors in a quilt, each tweak or imperfection makes the quilt special and unique. Tweaks are the stories of a quilt.

Name: Amelia Ear-hart was a noted American aviation pioneer and author. This quilt highlights some super cute air flying machines and it was made with a lot of heart. Together these two symbols came together to make a cozy quilt appropriately named Air-Heart.
