Christmas Time

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas
and it is beginning to feel a lot like it too!
( this is my thyme after our first snowfall)

Tonight, the Santa of this house comes home after a trip to the Hammer. Santa had a lot of people to see, and I think he had a little bit of shopping to do as well. To the best of my recollection, this is the longest A and I have been apart since we were married 4 years ago. The time actually flew by as my little elf kept me company and certainly kept me busy. In fact, this dynamic duo got a fair bit of cleaning done, all our gifts bought and wrapped, and all the groceries have been purchased for Christmas Eve dinner. Yeah! If all goes as planned I am hoping to have everything prepped and set for dinner by Wednesday afternoon. In doing this, we will be able to enjoy a nice (and long overdue) dinner out with friends. I am really excited for this, as in my cleaning I found numerous expired movie passes - - I think it is time for Mommy and Daddy to go out on a date (NB: this actually has nothing to do with having a toddler and everything to do with my poor motivation for going to the theatre.) Unfortunately, our Santa's sled does not land till late tonight and the elves at the clinic have him booked for 2 straight 12 hour shifts...good thing our Santa does not need much sleep!

On Wednesday night, after A gets home I think it will finally REALLY feel like Christmas time. I look forward to the hussle and bussle of dinner prep on Thursday, having everyone over to our home Christmas Eve (one last time in this house we have to assume) and I get giddy thinking about our day long festivities at Nana and Grandad's.

We will start the morning off in our pj's here at home, then head over to Grand Central Station for the remainder of the day. Land of Nod Cinnamon Buns, Christmas wife saver, stockings, Christmas grace, exchanging presents with siblings, sitting in the same living room chair spot that we have for years, guessing the moment when my Mom will ask us to pause and get a bag for the paper ( family joke), are all the things I can not wait for on Friday.

This year I wished for new skates, a few good days to go snow-shoeing in the park and sledding with O. What did you wish for?

Good night.
Sleep tight.
4 more sleeps till the real Santa comes to your Home. Hohoho.
