So this is my second blog of the night. I am waiting for A to come home. His "sled" is delayed a bit. So while I wait I have been looking at new fabrics and new patterns for quilting. If possible I would love to start a new blanket (sofa quilt I think) and have it finished when we move into our new home. I found several Fat Quarter Bundles on the Fat Quarter web-site. How great would it be to get all the fabric I need in the mail. To a certain extent I take pride in picking my quilt fabrics, but equally so, picking fabric is one of the most painstaking and time consuming parts of quilting for me ( O is not one with the fabric store nor his mother frequent indecision and change of heart). In addition fabric is expensive! The "Blessings" bundle I attached below includes 38 fat quarters for 95 dollars (US). I think if I find a bundle I like ( and this one is not bad), and it would work for a pattern I choose, I may really have to consider this method of fabric purchase. Hmmmm.

I thought of one other thing I would really like for my new home....a quilt hanger. Years ago I saw one at Pottery Barn but it was not for sale!
PS. Thanks for those who commented on my Thursday thoughts. I loved them!!! I may have to do it again soon.
PPS. Santa's sled has landed. Mrs Claus is of to do a few last jobs before the Mr gets home and needs some milk and cookies.
Still 4 more sleeps.
oooh I like the fabric! If you're looking for another buddy quilt, let me know. I may be ready to tackle something in the new year :)
ReplyDeleteAnd to be honest, I have taken pride in chosing fabric individually as well, but with Miss A's recent quilt, I have loved the coordinating lines.
Lastly, I have been on the look out for a quilt rack. Since my Bento has to leave my guest room I wanted an option other than draping it over the armchair. I'm not sure if you were thinking of a hanger for the wall, but the rack is another option to consider :)
I would like to find a wall rack, one that leans against the wall. I am looking more into the turning 20 pattern, in which the Fat Quarter Bundle would work. The quick read I did said it only needed 20 fat quarters. The package comes with plenty more than that. Was the quilt we really liked a turning 20 pattern L?
