Inked for life

To start off the fall and cap off a great summer, we took a risk. This small but calculated risk was going for a hike... more particularly it was going for a hike with a curious, weight-bearing loving, not always happy to be confined toddler. Like so many times before however, our little mountain monkey surprised us. 11 km later O was still admiring the trees, scoring the odd "puff" from his mule ( aka Dada), and serenading the tons of tourists who joined us on a popular trek to the inkpots. It was also great to go exploring with Auntie, Uncle B, Olie, and Charlie. Watching the "Goggs" sniff and prance up and down the trail was a big help for entertaining the little man. The goggs, the company, and the well travelled route also helped this scaredy cat ( bear fear!) Mom relax and enjoy the risk. We have been talking about doing this hike for a while and I am so happy that we finally did it. We will do it again as these coloured ponds have left a lasting impression on us and reminded us of the great adventures that lie in our backyard. I hope in the years to come we will discover many more favourite family hikes that we will do over and over again, simply because we can.
