Yesterday was race day! Here I am ready to go!
Uncle Michael and Auntie Sara got both the boys to the finish line for us. They two look very happy to be riding the train.....well I know O's smile is genuine. Thanks UM and AS for getting up so early and being so chipper. We had some good splits.....and then spot the "bonk." ( this is about where my legs said NO MORE). We also had a really hard time negotiating the large ( but very excited) crowds at the beginning, hence the almost 7 minute first kilometre. The endomometo app was great! It quietly spoke to us the whole race and kept us going.
Happy to be finished and so happy to have our boys there!
Proud of our determination and our commitment to each other. This was not our best race but it certainly was not the best training program either. Is running twice a week and then taking several weeks off and repeat for 3 months called training?
We did it and so glad we did.
Now today as I sit on the couch ( ice on my knee) I feel both very proud and discouraged. For the last week and a half I have been very short of breath. I am unable to consistently take a deep breath and breath properly. I had a chest x-ray on Friday. It showed nothing. Running makes it no worse or no better. I have no other symptoms just the simple annoyance and panicky feeling of poor breathing. I have another appointment tomorrow. I am hoping a magic breathing pill since Flovent, Ventalin, Vicks, steam, and chest physio have not worked.
I hate being breathless.
Well done!!
ReplyDeleteI really do envy runners and really want to be one. I know it is a simple matter of getting my butt to physio but it's the last thing I want to do with my "me time" right now. I know, crazy, going would actually allow easier "me time", if that makes sense.
Hope your appointment tomorrow will provide some answers as to why your breathless.
Congrats to you and A on a job well done! So glad the boys could be there to see you finish!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your shortness of breath though. I hope you get some answers soon :(
Congrats again on the run! Great pic of the four of you, I'm glad you were welcomed across the finish line by the boys:)
