The last few weeks we have been discussing and exploring what we want summer to look like for our family. What do we want for this year and the many summers to come.
Are we a Family who is going to camp every weekend of the summer?
Answer: Probably Not
Have we gone camping since having kids?
Answer: Nope
Are we a family who would be more inclined to camp if we slept in a trailer vs. a tent?
Answer: Probably Yes..... especially because I believe a bear might steal my children out of my tent in the middle of the night.
Are we a family who loves to travel?
Answer: Most definately and to date we have done very well.
Are we a family who loves relaxing in the mountains and breathing crisp air
Answer: YES! This winter we have been trying to spend one weekend a month in the mountains.
Are we also a family who has come to cherish the sea side breeze and the warmth of the beach?
Answer: Oh yes! We also love spending time with our family and friends.
Do we have a money tree growing in our backyard ?
Answer : No.
Answer: Oh yes! We also love spending time with our family and friends.
Do we have a money tree growing in our backyard ?
Answer : No.
Do we have more than 4 small trees in our backyard?
Answer: No and the money trees I dream of are kind of pricey.

In my dream word ( where trees grow money and time) we would have a trailer (likely also a bigger car with a hitch), camp with the kids a few times a year, travel, visit friends and family all over Canada and have a beautiful ( more green and private) backyard to enjoy and play in.
This is ideally, but logically and logistically we have to prioritize and answer more questions.
However at the end of the day I know that.....

or in another province
I know I want.

ReplyDeleteI too would love to plant a money tree - ours would buy us a sailboat that we could travel with the kids for a year abroad.
As for reality and this summer, I think I'll be spending lots of time on the back deck with the girls in the splash pool and me sitting and watching with a newborn in my arms. I'm looking rather forward to it :)
I haven't really thought about any traveling. When I think about summer, I picture spending lots of time outside at our house, enjoying a new play set for the big boys now and a new fire pit. I also plan to go to the beach I discovered last summer, just a few minutes down the road. It's on a tidal island (island only at high tide) with great sand and warm water.

Our summer will be laid back. Hubbie is contemplating looking for greener pastures so this may be his last summer off....really hoping that he can find advancement in his current workplace, I would miss him so during the summer if he moved on.
Our family that resides in Portugal is actually visiting this week. While I know that a trip to visit them is not in the plans this year, having him here really makes me want to go next summer.
We made a "Spring To Do" list and plan to do the same for the summer season. I'm sure we will be kept busy checking the items off. And on our not so busy days we will be hanging in the back yard :)
