* We tried to smooth out his hair
My house is full of boy/men.

I love it and I love them!
As the only female in this house I assume many roles, most things I joyfully do and some just happen.... I think some of you can relate.
Simply put, I am a Mommy and I worry about my kids.
Some days I worry more than others and then there are periods like last night and today when talking with a friend, playing with my kids, enjoying a playground adventure with great neighbours, and some time with my biggest and most comforting man make me feel silly for feeling so consumed.
The last few days have been fun. For many reasons they have been joyous, but mostly because Mr. O was so so so funny, fun, spirited, smart, imaginative, sweet, and so so "O"
Here are just a few excerpts that made me smile and laugh:
6:00 p.m. last night {I make a meal that likely will be met with great resistence and a lot of bribery}
Me: O, please eat your dinner?
O: Mom, can I feed J and you feed me?
Me: Sure........? I stick a red pepper in O's mouth expecting a huge gag and reaction.
O: Yum! Mom that was delicious. Can I have the sweet one ( pineapple)
Me: choke
O: This is fun Mom. Thanks for making a great dinner!
Me: Melt
Miracle Meal: Meatball, Pepper and Pineapple Skewers. Looney Spoons. Cross your fingers for a round 2.
10:00 a.m. {Still in jammies and O escaped the table with no face wiping at least an hour ago}
Me: O your face is flithy.
O: I know Mom, that is why I am a man?
Me: No comment
O: It is o.k. Mom (everything is always O.K. in O's world) these are just my whiskers.
12:30 p.m. {Trying to do lunch fast so we can get to the playground with neighbours.}
Me: O can you please sit down at the table and eat your lunch, we need to go soon?
O: Sure Mom, but can you please feed Squawk?
Me: Who is Squawk?
O: He is the blanket. I put him in his chair.
Me: Yes. I can give him 2 bites then I have to feed J. I pick up what I believe could be Squawk's spoon ( a baby ring, conveniently placed right beside him)
O: Mom that is not a spoon it is his pepperoni yogurt.
Me: Laugh and eye roll.
3:00: { At the playground with neighbours}
Me: just watching, listening, melting!
O: Lucy (he flirted his way to an introduction 30 seconds prior) this is my best friend C.
C this is my girlfriend Lucy. She is not my school girlfriend, but my playground girlfriend.
She wants to make snow cake. She does not have snow pants and can not get her pants wet.
This was two nights ago, well past his bed-time. O was off to a dance party in the family room. He just finished happily trying on dress clothes. I think he looks like he is off to private school.

Oh my goodness, he looks like such a little man! Cutie!!
ReplyDeleteIs this how Dad looks when he leave the house? It is crazy how much they want to be "just like daddy".
