As a pre-teen I was a true blue Garth Brooks fan. I owned every CD and had memorized each one of his live concert albums. I could sing every song by heart. I never saw him in concert and consequently missed seeing the stage light up during Standing Outside the Fire and the rain pour down during the Thunder Rolls and seeing him fly through the crowd.
I obviously survived but seeing him in concert was something I always hoped to do.

This past weekend my dear husband helped make one of my dreams come true. Our three day trip to Nevada had many special moments but seeing Garth in his small venue ( less than 1000 people) was undoubtedly a true highlight. He sang tons, yet we only were treated to a handful of his own songs. The music quality and quantity was out of this world. In a very entertaining and hilarious 2 1/2 show he allowed us a peak into the family, culture and musical influences that created him. The show reminded me how much I love music and how much I adore GB. Trisha Yearwood also made an appearance for 3 songs and I do believe we were treated to a little extra Garth enthusiasm. The concert started at 10:30 with an empty stage, a stool, a guitar and a bottle of water. It end at 12:50 with Garth in the middle of the stage holding the only guitar he used all night, and with an empty bottle of water resting on a stool that was never sat on.
You did not have to know everyone of his songs to LOVE this show. I am certain it was planned that way.
My husband, not a country fan before meeting me, and by no stretch a Garth Brook enthusiast reports it was the best concert he has ever seen. Ahh melt my heart. Secondly, it was during the show that I learned I may not have seen Garth for the last time. Ladies and gentlemen he rumoured that he may go on tour again.
With this tease another concert will remain on my dream list ( this time hopefully a little closer to home). I do fear, but also take pleasure in knowing that a gigantic come back concert may never top sitting in a theatre laughing out loud one minute and then in the next minute singing out loud to Unanswered Prayers holding my husband's hand.
Love you Garth but LOVE YOU MORE A.
{More Vegas highlights to come soon. It was a great trip- I am glad I was encouraged to go. However I do think my boys -in particular J -changed in just a few days away}
So glad you were able to get away and have such an amazing experience! Looking forward to hearing more.
