Why is it that some weekends one can feel so accomplished, so energetic, and so productive and yet other weekends you feel like you are running around getting nothing done, you did nothing as a family, and feel worn out come Sunday.
I am asking because I am not 100% sure. This weekend we split the days. One great, one O.K.
Saturday:
Pictures got hung, we went for a fantastic family walk, I found a sale at a local fabric store, one bathroom got a good clean ( I am starting to realize that our painters kind of sucked at patch work...oh well), we feed Owen early and had our own late night dinner (thinking we should do this more often), and we got caught up on a long list of t.v. shows saved on the PVR.

~A few odds and ends achieved-check
Sunday:
Groceries got done and linens got cleaned, but our hallway shelves got hung wrong (now we have to patch, sand, and paint), one of my curtains got sewn strange, and every room seemed to get messier not more clean, O did not brush his teeth till after lunch, and did not get close to the bathroom once.
~Productive- mildly
~Family Time-Only because it was Sunday and we had dinner at Mom and Dad's
~Husband Time- Nope he is patching and I am typing
~Odds and ends achieved-No, more were added to the list.
Despite my griping I hope you get what I mean. I guess I am easily frustrated and potentially continually set my expectations high. I am just always looking for ways to keep a tidy life and get way more O and family time into my day. These last few months have been hard and I want to break the daily "to do list" cycle.
On a positive note, O's "hand, foot, and mouth disease" did not seem to amount to anything more than a few spots on his hands. Truly if I did not see the few teeny tiny bubbles in-between his fingers I may never have known that he was ill. And best of all, my little boy asked me if I wanted to jump over a rainbow with him last night.
I totally get what you're saying. I constantly have to tell myself to let go a little when my list doesn't get "done". It's hard to fit it all in. Especially for you guys being in a new house. Give yourself some grace - it'll all settle down eventually :)
