Shopping not Soup

Today I was determined. Determined to get things done around the house. However at 7:15 I woke up with my toddler beside me (a story and blog entry for some other time) to another blah and rainy day. House chores did not inspire me, but making chowder for dinner did. I managed to wrestle my untoileted (another topic for future blogs) and very determined to stay- home toddler out of his "new house". Prepped with lots of cars and tons of snacks the grocery trip went well. I came home and made my soup. I was proud and hungry at 3:00.

At 4:00 Andy rolled in the door and was also determined. He however, was determined to get house stuff done. Once again we convinced the little man to join us for another car ride. Initially we thought parking in the underground lot was what got him in the car, however we soon realized he likely was agreeable as he felt he was eating dinner at the mall.

An hour and a half after entering the mall we had bought a new bedspread for Owen, a kitchen hutch, chicken fingers, and two sub sandwiches. Not what I had planned for the day.
We definitely did not have chowder for dinner, but tomorrow it will taste just as good, and in 4-6 weeks my chowder bowls will look great in my new hutch. However now we may be buying couches at IKEA. Or if nothing else Owen gets to keep an entire room all to himself for a long while.
