We are dressed, not the turkey

This year Aunt Marie is "dressing" the turkey. Tomorrow afternoon we are simply showing up for a fantastic family feast. Today however, the little man just about had enough of his parents colds and being cooped up inside for several days. So this afternoon we dressed OUR little 27 pound turkey and set him loose on the frozen tundra we call our patio. Bundled up in his warm suit from last year ( yeah it still fits, as long as we do not put down the feet covers or hand covers), his new toque and new boots ( still learning to walk in them) , O played outside, and for a while he was delighted. However, he quickly learned about the challenges of playing with gloves on. So between, mom and dad being wimps, glove-on only play, and a skating rink for a play space, outside time did not last long. Yet, it was a good practice for bundling up when it will really count. Oh dear. My bones hurt thinking about the cold. I think I still may have a slight fever, hehe. In any regard, I am a weee bit excited for our first dump of snow when we will be able to bundle up and help our little man walk through his first pile of snow! These moments to come make me so thankful for all the great memories our family has created and for all fantastic ones I know we have to come. We learned last month, that life is often too short. Thus, this Thanksgiving weekend we feel more thankful and blessed than ever. We are trying hard to slow down, not rush to tomorrow what we can enjoy today, and certainly continue to ensure we get to spend as much time with our loved ones as possible.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone.
Enjoy your turkey and all the dressings!
