in this bed....however at 5:45 a.m. this morning all that was sleeping in this bed was Ted the bear. O was up talking to himself for a large part of his typical sleeping hours last night (maybe it was the turkey?). Soon talking turned into whining, and whining turned into a need for some reassurance. All in all, this was no big deal as late night cuddles are rare in this house. ( I am grateful, I promise) In fact, I kind of enjoyed the first few trips to O's room. After each snuggle O was quietly returned to his bed, all be it very wide eyed. After a while O did not want to be returned to his bed, and Mom and Dad did not want to sleep in a chair. So whines turned into tears. I convinced A to ignore the cries for a few minutes, and then if O was still refusing to sleep we would get up for morning. At 5:45 we heard a huge THUMP, hmm a little strange as often when O kicks the aquarium or bumps the bars it sounds a little different. Then we realize the crying is getting louder and CLOSER. OH MY GOSH, O IS AT OUR DOOR WITH HIS BLANKET. So after a huge hug, O once again snuggled into my arms and this time he was staying there, and for the first time Mommy, Daddy, and baby mountain climber had a early morning nap together in a BIG BED.
This afternoon I read that once your child is 36 inches you can expect them to climb out of their crib with no concerns. Well O is not that tall. Frankly we have no idea how he managed in his rage to get his whole body over the bars. It may be better that we never know his technique. Enough said for tonight. We have some thinking and researching to do! At this very moment O is safely sleeping in his crib. Sweet Dreams Everyone.
OMG Owen you little dare devil, please don't teach your buddy Taylor your new trick!! Crossing my fingers for you guys that this was a one time event....let the research for big boy beds begin!!

Wow! You must have been so surprised! I used to babysit a kid that did that all the time..so frustrating! Hopefully Owen will forget that he's able to get out of the crib!
