It was good

Not to long ago I returned home from my first run in several weeks. Two weeks ago I attempted a long run with my husband. Although we both completed the distance we set out to, it was a mentally draining  run. My knees and shins were hurting so bad that I could not bare to stop running in fear that I would never be able to run again, and my partner in crime was dying of thirst and cramps. So, in anger and grumpiness I threw in the towel. After this amount of pain I was never running again. It was so frustrating that my silly knee was holding me back.  I was even mad enough that I let my husband dry needle my calf and leg.  Yet, the man may know what he is talking about. If I had only listened to him months ago ( I may actually tell the truth as say years ago) about my muscle imbalances, tight IT band, overcompensation, stretching, etc, etc, maybe then I would not be complaining so much today. BUT, with a commitment to use the next few months to work on my "issues" I am going to ride this mini high and get out again this weekend and see if I can feel as good as I did today.  Hopefully this weekend I will not need a coat, tights, and wish that I had mittens on.

I hope this weekend's run is just as encouraging! See you tonight :)
