Finding a rhythm

I have 40 days left of work this school year. (Opps-did I just admit that I counted the number of days of work I have till the end of June. Yes I just counted). This fall I struggled to get into a rhythm at work and at home. I promised myself in December that I would not be trying to catch up on work every night at 9:00.  Instead I would either be getting ready for bed or working on a family or me project.  More than ever I am craving some check boxes on "my list".  So many of the corners of our life are just fine the way they are and yet others ( sometimes like me) look a bit tired. It could be the time of year but moving forward and looking at something completed will feel good.  I am not going to post a sidebar list, instead write it out now and from time to time revisit this post with an update. In our house we do not make new years resolutions. Instead we make goals for ourselves on our anniversary. Many things I remember writing down will not be achieved by next August and yet I recall (we seal the envelopes after we write them- it is fun to look back and see what was important) writing down many things that I can get done if I work at them.

1. Update O's baby book- essentially almost finish it
2. Update J's baby book
3. Complete J's first year photo (Mac) book
4. Complete our 2012 photo (Mac) book
5. Complete the top of my string quilt ( consider making this as a summer blanket instead of a queen sized quilt)
6. Make surfer pillow cases for O's room
7. Finish (a few more posters) O's surfer room
8. Create and set J up in a big boy room
9. Redo/renovate the laundry room to make it more functional
10. Clean out/purge all toy boxes
11. 2013 photo book up to date.
12. Make a rag quilt with at least 4 fabric squares that I already own
13.  Complete shell picture frames
14. Frame Portugal tiles
15. Monthly dates (not on the couch with our laptops) with my husband.
16. Read a book
17. Buy or make a picture/poster pinned on my Pinterest site.

I think this is good.
Checkmarks here I come.

  1. I second the summer blanket versus queen quilt plan. I'm just not feeling it as a huge bed quilt.

I will join you on the baby book catch up!
