More blue skies ahead

On a few of the warmest days of the year our family finally went for a swim in Nana and Grandad's lake. It was warm, it was wonderful and it was well worth the wait ( O up to this point had never "jumped" into the lake with us)
Following two straight weeks of swim lessons my little man had a little more confidence to jump into the deep water.  While A and I found it refreshing and warm, O's blue lips quickly indicated little bodies can not stand the water for too long.  The little path down to the lake is no longer only used for bike riding it now leads to water adventure, splashing, and so much more. I grew up on this lake...so many memories.
Sunshine is a real bonus for my olive skin guy, but if you really know my son you know that this was utter bliss for him.  After dinner treats and a lady to talk with...he waited all day and he was so happy when he finally got her all to himself.  We have lots of other shots with him gazing into her eyes. It was priceless.

After my cousin's wedding last weekend my two little men quickly and happily found themselves a shading spot and begun to snack.  They were so quiet....and they were so handsome. I only wish snack shots were not the only pictures I had of them together.  It was a busy day, photography took a back seat to wedding jobs and keeping children quiet in the church.
Mommy and one of her men.  One of the quiet moments before A and I began our MC duties.
A grew up going to large family weddings with his parents. Dancing with O was a lot of fun and something that we were all looking forward to.  I will admit his feet rarely touched the floor, he opted to dance in his parents arms..but it was still memorable and I got a really good bicep workout.
The sleep at the wedding training is a little slow as it is often not practiced, but by 11:00 it was evident that O could keep up with the best of them and sleep through loud thumping LMFAO songs.
This summer, brotherly love is blooming. Now we have to work on not toppling each other over when we hug. At least they always seem to laugh

It is late, but I thought I would post quickly before the month of August is upon us. This has been a great summer. So much time outside and so many memories made. I hope more blue skies are on the horizon for us and for everyone.  Enjoy the sun, the water, and the sand ( if you are close to some) I know we are definitely going to put on our sunscreen and make sure we enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.  Till next time.

  2. We are like you, in that we do not take this weather for granted! Before long, it will be gone and we will be switching to cooler climate activities.

I love the picture of O sleeping on the chairs! I remember a picture of myself (not much older than him), asleep under a table at my Mom's second wedding. Keep that one for him. Definitely, "a must pull out" at his wedding :)

    Enjoy the rest of summer!
