Rain Delay

I started a blog on Monday....guess what, I never finished it.

It was sunny and hot on Monday. Tonight it is calm, cool and rainy.

Monday's sunshine got us out into the yard. It also allowed me a few hours to wear shorts and a tank top. We busied around in the play house (currently known as Five Guy's restaurant), brought the hose out of the garage, stayed clear of the brand new sandbox (soon enough), saw our first hints of green grass, had a muffin tin picnic, went to the Children's for O's first Ortho appointment, cleaned out the high chair (victim to the weekend flu- which is now better known as the first birthday curse since both my boys had the flu within 24 hours of their first birthday), and spent sometime on the phone talking with Nana ( the hospital already has too many germs they did not need anymore)

Tuesday saw O return to school, arm bagged and ready. I am not sure how much if anything his teachers encouraged him to do. I felt bad the poor guy came home from school on Pirate day without a boat or hat. We took care of that after dinner! He has NEVER complained! Never once said it hurts, it is itchy, why can't I, when is it coming off, etc? He seems to have just sucked it up and moved on.  I am so in awe of his toughness and easy going nature.  I may have just cursed myself but the full arm cast will soon be cut down ( assuming the placement looks good and the bowing of the radius is not worse). In fact, in 2-3 weeks O will be sporting a WATERPROOF cast that he could even swim in!!

Wednesday....work, work, work. Then Daddy went to work, work, work.  Lots has changed since I went on leave ( people, policy, procedure). I am hoping that my end of the year start is the reason for my poor motivation. The new family schedule kind of sucks for A and I, but the changes in people, policy and procedure for the boys (aka Daddy at home 2 days a week) is without a doubt going well.

Thursday (yesterday) is when I realized that I had not blogged in a while and this "rain delay" may be an ongoing trend.   I just read my prairie friend's blog and I agree with her, the rain we are currently experiencing is refreshing and I hope it will also be rejuvenating.

April has kicked my but and today though happy at Home Depot in my boots and Lulu's I felt like I needed some rejuvenation. I bought some flowers and tomorrow I am getting my hair done.

A meal plan, groceries, tiding, catching up on house jobs, maybe some quilting ( it has been so long) and thinking more about the blooms and trees to go in our garden will also help.
