#15

Mommy and J went shopping at Chapters today. It was great (and a little costly) being solo with just my little one. For today it was nice to shop with J just like I used to shop with O.
We came away with some stocking stuffers, birthday presents and the new Christmas book(s) we went for.

Bear Stays Up & Merry Christmas Merry Crow were the two books I/we picked.

Bear Stays Up is a cute story about a sleepy bear who's friends help him stay up long enough to see Christmas morning. Bear ends up helping his friends out as well. The reason I could not resist this cute friendship story was because in the end Bear's friends gave him a cozy quilt to snuggle up with at the end of Christmas day.

Merry Christmas, Merry Crow is the book we chose for O. It has great descriptive language without being a complicated story. It is in fact a story about a crow ( I know strange and yuck) however this crow's festive heart creates a great treat for all. O enjoyed the story but was a little upset because the crow took a button from Frosty to create his masterpiece. He was quite concerned about Frosty's feelings

Both books were fun to read tonight and will be fun to read again and again leading up to Christmas Day.

  1. Bear stays up is a favourite from last Christmas - Amelia's PopPop got it for her. Such a special story. Our Christmas story growing up was called "the olden days coat" which my Dad read to us every Christmas Eve and the book we chose for Amelia's first (and every other) Christmas is called "The Spirit of Christmas" by Nancy Tillman. Just thought I would share a few - love getting good book ideas. We will check out your other choice! Happy reading! xoxo Meg

  2. Little 2 needs a book for his school party and I'm hoping to find The Rinky Dindy Donkey, it is such a cute story. I'll look for these if I can not find it. Probably end up a costly trip for us as well.

    Merry Christmas
