I love long weekends.

It is quite quite late (thanks Bachelorette and loads and loads of laundry) but tonight somehow, sometime I promised myself I would find a quiet minute to type, think and reflect on what ever came to mind. And what comes to mind at this very moment is WOW it is quiet in my house. Only the hmm of the dryer echos in my ears.

I enjoyed my weekend. It was a mix of: fun, checkmarks being put on the vacation prep list, some house jobs, plenty of sunshine, an evening with friends, and tonight a little husband and wife t.v. time (while we folded laundry and put away newborn clothes.....sigh). I had high hopes of getting more house cleaning, lawn weeding and "jobs" done. However, earlier tonight as I sat on my bathroom floor supervising my son's very entertaining shower performance all I could think of was "who cares".

Besides this long weekend.............

~Cookie Monster ( Seen at the Elmo's Healthy Hero Play) taught my son about having a colourful plate. This resulted in him eating avocados and tasting ( I might clarify-licking) a Mandarin orange.

~I got to sew

~O and Daddy went to the splash pad twice and the swimming pool once.

~I got to run. Slowly but surely I am getting my distance up and my pace is getting quicker. I think these days I get lost in my head while I run more than ever before. I also make myself put one foot in front of the other as I have a bathing suit that I would like to wear in a few weeks.

~I watched my little man help his buddy decorate her playhouse with flowers. It was like they had been designing windowsill arrangements for years.

~We put a dent in getting organized to leave this continent in two weeks.

And really at the end of the day I could not be more grateful to sit quietly on my cozy couch and know that in the 3 rooms that surround me I have 3 amazing, charming, very patient, and determined men sleeping soundly. I think I should join them in slumber. I am going to ignore the dryer song, folding can wait till tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a great long weekend. Good Night!
