Tiny talk

Up until a few weeks ago a lot of my son's storytelling and conversation related to Thomas the Tank Engine. As I have previously mentioned he can name every train and tell you all about chugging, chuffing, bashing, banging, pulling, puffing, whooshing, and whiffing. Most days he could do this till he was as blue in the face as Thomas himself. However, a few weeks ago we started watching a PBS show, "The Dinosaur Train". Now Tiny the Pteranodon has taken over some of our thinking, play, and conversation.

Last week, Tiny had a busy day.
She practiced cutting ( I love that Tiny is holding the scissors)
She played cars. Well actually she was given a chair so she could watch.
She played the train game.
And she accompanied us on a car ride.
And while participating in all of her activities, O often requested a voice for Tiny. And from this point on Tiny has been busy talking about a lot of things, and Mommy's voice is getting a little scratchy from pretending to be a flying dinosaur.

Tiny tells us when to pee, how to put our shoes on, convinces O ( when Mom and Dad can't) that it is time for a rest, she discusses our meals, and of course she knows how the trains are doing on the Island of Sodor.

This is childhood. Pure imagination and 100% carefree play. I am amuzed and amazed with how creative Tiny and O can be.

And while on the topic of tiny talk our little dino has begun some "talking" of his own. It is so great to hear some coos. They remain congested and crackly coos but oh they are so sweet to hear.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, maybe you got to talk like a dinosaur just like me?

  1. Perhaps a trip to Drumheller is in order for the Botelho boys :)
