Working in style

Returning to work 19 months ago, leaving my little monkey behind, was one of the harder things I have had to do in a long time. March 17th, 2009 I balled my eyes out all the way down the highway. My tears were only made larger because I was stuck on the Deerfoot and was going to be late for my first day back. However, I kept driving, and did not u-turn, as I knew this routine change was going to be a good choice for me, O, and our family. I also knew that O was in terrific hands and he was going to be exposed to new experiences and opportunities while spending time with Nana, Tia, and Daddy. This arrangement has made going to work every Tuesday and Wednesday for the last year and a half so much easier. I know how lucky we are.

I also know how lucky I am, because today this is where I worked. While the snow fell outside, I was snugly seated at my kitchen table writing reports and catching up on paper work. I arrived home at 10:00, warmed up sweats in the dryer, set out my lunch, and settled in to be productive. It is assessment and report writing time once again. This time of year is always a bit hectic, but it also makes time fly by. With another mat leave looming, I have to wonder if I will return to work again. Days like today remind me how sweet my OT world really is.

  3. A few people have commented on my table pumpkin. Owen picked this one at Pottery Barn the night we bought our hutch! He made a good choice. He got a pumpkin for staying in his stroller and we got a hutch out of it. Works for me. It was pricey, but long lasting. I am hoping to go back on Monday and find them on sale. I would like the size smaller as well.
