This makes 101

Last week I wrote my 100th blog entry. Over the course of the last two days I have worked to make this 101st entry a fun celebration. In the following 100 statements I have admitted some weaknesses, celebrated a lot of growth, shared new realizations, planned a lot, dreamed even more, and have hopefully given all of you a bigger peak into my JillyBean Joy.

1. I have a Starbucks habit that does not involve caffeine.
2 I am a sucker for an Extra Hot, Non Fat, Decaf Latte. Essentially I like hot milk.
3 When I have a hot drink at home, I always drink out of the same mug: NS pottery mugs.
4 WHEN you dust your railing, how many rungs do you have to dust? I have 85.
5 Baby wipes work really well for cleaning blinds.
6I do not clean my blinds nearly as often as I should.
7 I would be lost without my iPhone and I never thought I would say that.
8I LOVE weekend breakfast with family and friends
9 Breakfast 1: Home-made waffles ( a la Andy) and lattes ( a la Andy)
10 Breakfast 2: Home-made scones, fruit, yogurt and tea.
11. My sister is getting married in 3 weeks.
12 Our dresses are green.
13 Karen is going to be a stunning bride & O a handsome ring bearer.
14 Our house is still on the market.
15 My last day of work is June 22nd.
16 I can tell you anything you want to know about the Cars movie.
17 I am nervous about seeing our Kitchen house selections.
18 This weekend baseboards, doors, the mantle & laundry room bench were all put in.
19 This summer I want to hike Grassi Lakes, since we did not do it last weekend.
20 I will gladly accompany anyone on a hike. I am keen to try a few new family friendly trails.
21 We are going to Ontario and Nova Scotia this summer.
22 Cara, Matt, and Hayden are coming with us to NS.
23 The last time I travelled with Cara we drove to ON in her Ford F-150.
24 I am craving new accessories.
25 I found a great plain white t-shirt at the Banana Republic outlet store for $11.99. LOVE IT.
26 I adore Crate n Brarel & would love to re-decorate every room in my house with their stuff.
27 After 6 years, I am getting my rings professionally cleaned. I am very excited for the shine.
28 I have been on the search for new flour & sugar containers and I think I found them. C & B.
29 I am going to miss our finished backyard. But O will love the dirt.
30 After O was born I developed a sweet tooth.
31 I hate cleaning bathtubs.
32 I am struggling with my hair these days. I have a hair appointment June 24th....hmmm
33 I am currently reading " House Rules" Jodi Picoult.
34 I want to run 7 more 1/2 marathons before I turn 40.
35 I could be bribed to run 1 full marathon. Maybe for my 40th in Disneyland. Anyone else?
36 I would like to take a family trip with other families.
37 We buried St Joseph in our front garden.
38 Last weekend we made pizza on the barbeque. I was great. Give it a try.
39 Andy makes fantastic barbecue chicken pizza.

84 What are other reputable on-line stores for ordering fabric?

94 Our family has done so much to help us.
95 Our friends have done so much to shape us.
96 I am grateful for those people in our lives who challenge us to remember who we are.
97 I am so lucky to have people in our lives who celebrate us and celebrate with us.
98 One day, I dream of renewing our vows in Portugal.
99 One day I also hope to redo our Europe 2004 trip.
100 I do not think I will do 11 overnight train rides in coach again though.
101. I never dreamed of being this full of joy.

  4. Hi,

We have met a few times through the Laws and I found your blog through Prairie Girl. I do not have a blog, just like to cruise them and I have no idea how you guys find the time.

A few things we have in common,
starbucks, weekend with family & friends, hikes, don't like my hair, family trip with other families, visit prairie sky daily, oh...scrapbooking and sewing (all supplies currently packed away to declutter), our house is on the market as well, think I might give up scrapbooking for MAC book (love it), I really like Chris L and Frank, really want to make a rag quilt for my little girl,

I realize I'm a stranger but you wanted us to comment and I do have a question. Where does your love of Portugal come from? My husband has an uncle that lives in Loule and we want to visit so badly but we are waiting for the right age for the kids to travel that far.

    Well, take care,
    Mindy

  5. Mindy,

Thanks for the comments. I remember you and your children as they were in love with the fuze ball table just like my son at Chris' 30th birthday. Lacey speaks often of you and your family.

Our life is very very busy with my sister's wedding prep at the moment and I am thus sorry for the delay.

Our love of Portugal comes from my husband's roots. His family originates from there. We have a family home there, we got engaged there and have visited there as much as possible.

You should go! I have been 3 times and would love to go every year.
    Jill
