Imagination

If only my imagination took me to the place that O's goes everyday. Today I watched my little man quietly create a world all of his own, with nothing more than a plastic kitchen set, some fake food, and some kitchen tools. He cut cheese with a key, ironed my table, ate butter like it was a chocolate bar, slurped his imaginary milk like no one was listening, put ice-cream in the oven, and a cellphone in the microwave (ok, yikes, this last one is a little scary-we will talk about this)

If only this carefree, creative, and intuitive, little brain could stay around for a little longer, I think crazy things would happen. I bet if we looked at the world through a little ones eyes, and worked as hard as they do everyday we would I get some pretty cool ( and some very weird) solutions to many common problems.

Tomorrow, as I have many plans, tasks, and jobs to accomplish I have to wonder, would I want to be a toddler again? What about you?

  1. I love that the iron saw a bit of play beyond a transition toy :) Feel free to borrow it anytime!

Funny you ask the Toddler question because just yesterday as we walked the windy streets of Banff, Chris was commenting how nice it would be to be pushed in a stroller, blocked from the wind, eating Cheerios and taking in the sights.

I think for me, I would love to have some of the innocence of childhood again. And to sleep 12 hours each night - yes please!!
