What a feeling

Up at 5:00, Bagel, PB, and banana 5:15, 5:45 our pick up car arrives, 6:15 arrive at race site, 6:20 get in port a potty line ( nice and short- I was amazed), 6:45 get in the cue & hardly any nerves, 7:00 the horn goes and my goose pimples start to shrink.  I was so pumped to get going and so excited to cross the finish line with my partner. So 1 hr, 58min 34 sec later ( should have been faster if we did not get stuck waiting for the fire truck 500 meters before the finish...grr...oh well)  we wind our way up 4th street, turn the corner onto 1st and see our little man waiting patiently on the side rail with Nana and Grandad. As you can see from the photo, Nana an Mommy were so excited to see each other that our waves blocked the camera angle and mistakenly blocked out my running partner.  Oppps!

Short and sweet....what a great race, what a great route, what a great partner, what a great feeling.  I hope one day soon we can do it again. I CAN'T wait to see a photo of us crossing the finish line! Now I think it is time for some rehab. Also next time I have to figure out how to escape post race gut rot.

ONE MORE THING: Thanks to all our baby-sitters over the last few months. Without you our modified training schedule would have been even more modified.

  1. Yay Team!! I too look forward to seeing the shot of you crossing the finish line - but while you wait you get the satisfaction of resting on your laurels :)

  2. I'm back with a quick note to say I've passed along a blog award to you today on my post. I think it goes without saying how much I love having you and your family in our lives, but I also have loved checking in on your mac site and now your blog and getting a Botelho fix each and every day :)
