Take the good with the bad

Last week this kitchen tried 4 new recipes.  Admittedly this is a lot of new meal for one week. I was selfishly trying to get through several "new recipes" on my latest to do list, and I may have made my husband and son suffer? The jury is still out on several of these recipes.

The Baked Imperial Chicken with Cumberland Sauce was great, and I did not expect otherwise. We have had this chicken recipe before at Chez Mom and Dad's.  However, I could learn to make my chicken a little crispier. Also I may need to be a bit more prepared the next time.  The Cumberland Sauce calls for red currant jelly. This jelly is a rare find and so far can only be located at select Safeway stores.
-This recipe will go in the "book" and will be used again in the near future.

The Banana Berry Brunch Crumble was adored by my husband. My little man also adored making it with me. In fact, if you have seen the pictures on the gallery it may be apparent to you that he would have eaten all of the bananas and frozen blueberries if I let him.  This was not my favourite crisp or crumble, but I did like the coconut in the topping.
-This recipe will go in the "book" for my husband to enjoy one day. I however will not be making it again too soon...to many other deserts to try.

The Fresh Corn Salad was an o.k. side.  Super simple to make and nothing special for ingredients. This salad tasted nice with our salmon dinner.
-This recipe will go in the "book" for a recipe idea when I have a lot of corn nibblets to use up :)

The Chicken with Coriander, Lemon and Figs was not a do over.  I did not eat it, and yet again my husband did his part to not be overly wasteful. The little man also ate it. We are still in search of another few go to slow cooker recipes.
-This recipe will not go in the "book".

The Enchiladas were fantastic. I wonder if they would be better with the mystery sauce that you only get in the states?
-This emailed recipe will definitely go into the "book"

So this week we are attempting 3 new trials. In a week or so I will be done trying new things...hehe....well that is at least until I make a new list of new meal options.
